In view of the fact that we have a fairly significant number of international users, not to mention a few international Icon Entrants: How about re-broadcasting the show on November 2nd throughout the next day with any necessary intervals?
After all, 8 PM Eastern Time is about 11 PM / 12 AM in the UK -- never mind Australia.

"Sounds cool!" or in other words.."yea" or "Yeah!"...or in other words.. "why certainly"..or in other words "yes, sounds good to me"... or in other words, "Sounds about right," etc and so forth/"Positive" responses...

Yes, Kye, good idea. While 8:00 EST is perfect for me, it would be the middle of the night/early morning/late afternoon for others. So at least one rebroadcast, if not more, would make sense.

In a word, "sounds great!"

Okay, shoot me, that's two words.

Well they could probably put it on a server or something and leave it for people to download it if they missed the initial broadcast. That's always a thought.

Jess beet me to the punch. I think the idea is that we will have the shows available for download so that people can access the broadcast at their leisure. I'll certainly bring this up at the next Zone Icon meeting though so that we can give everybody a definite answer as to how we're going to get round this issue.

Thanks. Dan.

...LoneStar (Jess) or perhaps Harp (Dan),

Presumably, once the show has been "aired," Staff members in charge of the process would transfer a recorded copy of the show to a suitable server. A link would then be provided, probably via the boards or from the Zone BBS Icon page, to the file(s) containing the recorded show(s).
NOTE: These files are likely to be vary large. Even at the best compression ratios without sacrificing quality, you'll be looking at about 20 to 50 Megabytes. Translation: It will take forever and two days for dialup users to download the show(s).

Why not break up the shows in smaller download sizes? Second, on the zone icon page place a list of contestants. Didn't say how long these shows will last. Besides if you're a download user, why is it that much of a big deal to have these things reaired? Depending on the host's server and dialup quality theres bound to be loads of buffering breaking up the singing. Therefore, something like this would be annoying. But I like the idea.

Well, I'm afraid that the dial-up problem is one that will be there no matter what is done. I think maybe dividing the show in to half hour or hour intervals could help this out, but audio is ust going to take a long time to download on dial-up, no matter how you look at it.
